Not Bookish: Fashion Love

Not a bookish post. Or even a post about how nursing school has been my life this past semester. Instead, talking about wearing the same outfit to multiple places and pretending to be a fashion blogger over on my personal blog: Adventures Abound

Job Found: gray scrubs

I found a job. And I start my official orientation in a few hours...so no time to expand. 5AM comes too early for these late night. But I am now officially working as a CNA. You guessed it, in gray scrubs.

Secret Santa Fun

I particpated in The Broke and The Bookish Secret Santa this season. And it has been an absolute blast! I've had so much fun picking out the books and gifts based on my persons information card. Seriously, who knew Christmas shopping for another book lover could be so much fun? On the day that I went to the Post Office to mail off my gift -- I got another surprise. My own Secret Santa Gift had arrived.

It felt like Christmas had came early (which I guess it sorta did). When I finally got it home and tore open the box (which might have been channeling Thor, cause it was hard to crack), I was meet with some gorgeously wrapped presents. Which I, of course, quickly destroyed. She did such a good job picking out the different items for my package! Those chocoletes....mmmmm! The Book Thief has been on my TBR list for a while now. I just saw the movie and bawled, so I cannot wait to dive into the actual book. And Bitterblue!! How can you not like the Graceling series? Then there is those amazing quotes (which are already hagging on my wall)!

My Secret Santa chose to stay anonymous, but I just want to send her a virtual hug and say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I seriously love ever single item! Thanks for bring joy to my Monday and being so thoughtful this Christmas season. And hope you and yours has a blessed and Merry Christmas.

Hope my package makes it soon too. And that my TBTBSanta person loves their gift as much as I love mine.

Fitness Wednesday: Starting T25

This picture sums me up perfectly. My favorite activity is chewing. More specifically, eating potatoes, cheese, cheese on my potatoes, steak, anything teriyaki flavored, and of course sweets.

Now let me tell you something else, the Freshman 15 (or in my case, the College 15) is no lie. Life has been stressfull and the past few years at the University, I have packed on a little weight.

Since I'm already weighing heavy and my favorite pastime is eating deleciously bad for you food, my goal for this season is to lose bit of weight.

Solution -- Starting T25. I have other beachbody programs, but this one seemed like the best choice because of my busy life. These workouts pack everything you need into 25 minitues for only five days a week.

Speed 1.0 is my favorite workout so far. I worked up a sweat, loved the beat and enjoyed all 25 minitues. Earlier tonight though, the day three workout Total Body Circuit really kicked my butt! Like majorly. It was a lot of upperbody work (which let's face it I have goose arms) and squats (ahhh......). My shoulders are already sore. And so it my legs and booty from yesterday.

Plus, I've been trying to change my eating habbits. I quit sodas cold turkey. Dang -- thank goodness for my free week of Shakeology. And I've been trying to follow the meal plan/guidliness. Granted it is only day three -- but I pretty much am dying to go on a fast food binge. You can probably see the golden archers floating over my head. But I'm staying strong.

1) Eating healthier will be help me feel better and actually live better in the long run, and 2) I have a cheat meal coming up on Saturday.

So I'm starting T25. Three days in I'm sore and wanting some major munchies, but I'm feeling good. It only takes like 20ish days to make a habbit right? Wish me luck! And if I do succed I'll be sure to post before and after photos.

I'm a CNA!

I passed my state boards for becoming a certified nursing assistant in NC.

It has been an extremely busy summer, but officially worth all those class days, labs, and clinicals.

(and early mornings)

*does victory dance*

And I wanted to let you know that, I'm still here. If I haven't not responded to your comments from the past few days, it just because I have a lot going on this past weekend and this upcoming week. Family reunions, this huge exam, taxfree weekend, and I'm fixing to head to the beach.

SO...I've not forgot about you.

You're comments and follows are greatly appreciated and mean more to me than I can say. I plan on responding and following back soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Snail Blog

The past few weeks have basically just been a combination of the following:

+

+

So I haven't had much time for blogging.
I have done some reading, but not tons.
I will hopefully return to sanity soon since Spring Break is almost here.
Unless I buy insanity --the workout program.
Ahhhhhh...maybe that can wait because I am saying:
Bring on books, breaks, and sugar cookies!
Cant't wait!
All that to say, sorry my blog has been running so slow.
Snail speed.

12 Books Later....

So last week I was invited to Pigeon Forge with one of my very best friends. We had a great time.  We went to arcades, dollywood, and I even went indoor skydiving. The problem being we also went to a lot of book stores. I darkened the doorway of at least three different stores -- and one twice.  Now a chunk of change and twelve books later this is what I learned....I'm a sucker. I can not pass up a good deal. At least only four of the twelve books were brand new and the rest were used. And only one of the new books was fully priced -- the rest were a bargain.  And a couple of these are for my mother. So I am not all selfish. :)  Okay, so maybe I am trying to make myself feel a bit better for buying all of these, but mostly I am just excited to read them.

And then I couldn't resist this cheap deal on the Princess Diaries series:

The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
Princess in the Spotlight by Meg Cabot
Princess in Love  by Meg Cabot
Princess in Waiting by Meg Cabot

I'm currently reading The Truth about Forever. I'm really enjoying it so far. With so many to chose from, which book should I read next though?

Vacation

I've had one of the best vacations these past few days in Pigeon Forge. It was relaxing but I stayed pretty busy and didn't get to read that much. I did however buy 12 new (well some where used) books. More to come soon :) Have an awesome Friday :)

Harry Potter Imax 3D Experience = EPIC

Back at the start of the New Year I made a list of things that I wanted to accomplish in 2011. One of which was see a movie in Imax. I can now mark number twenty-two off of my list:

21. I want to make more friends (corny, I know)
22. I want to see an imax film
23. I want to eat breakfast before class

This past Sunday I watched the final Harry Potter in Imax 3D. Wow.
It was like an overload of awesomeness.

Usually, I am not a fan of 3D movies and chose to see movies in 2D. I am so glad that I decided to see this movie in 3D. I don't know if it was because it was imax or just a better made 3D film, but the 3D wasn't blurry or annoying.  The screen, the sound, the 3D just pulled you in and made for an awesome movie watching experience. Add all of this to that fact that I was watching the final Harry Potter movie... epic!

Loved the movie!
