Read-A-Thon: “You’re the One That I Want”

More information about this event can be found at Read-a-Thon Central.
Day 2: List your must-have summer reading (the ones you read over and over again) or give us some of your favorite recommended summer reads.

Well, I don't really have a set book that I have to read over and over. I just usually reading anything -- but will admit lighter so called "beach reads" are awesome with toes in the sand and a drink in your hand. So I present a list of books I want to read in summer and ones I recommend.

Summer Reading I Recommend:

Catching Jordan -- This books has everything for a good summer read : football, college searching, cute boys, good friends, tomboy, and a tad bit of romance.

The Truth About Forever -- Any Dessen book that you pick up this summer will be worth the time. However, this is first Dessen book that I ever read and it remains my favorite. One word: Sawoon.

Anna and the French Kiss -- This book is just plain fun and would be a perfect fit for the beach. If you haven't read it yet, give it a chance this summer.

Rumble Fish -- This one is a bit more serious and I included it because I usually read at least one of Hinton's books in the summer. Hinton also wrote The Outsiders, and she is one of my favorite authors. This novel is a bit different, and she once wrote if you don't understand it now, then read it again when you're twenty-five.

Read-a-Thon Recap:

Day One Recap:

I started Along for the Ride. I only enjoyed Dreamland-- so I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. But, I absolutely love it so far. I had class today, so I am only 26% done.

Total Books Read: 0/5

Total Pages Read: 100

No school tomorrow. So I should be able to knock a chunk out of some reading.

  1. Yes! I'm so happy to see The Truth About Forever up there because it was the first Dessen book I read and it is my favourite so far. :) I really want to read Anna and the French Kiss and even though I haven't read it yet, one of my books for the read-a-thon is the second book! :P

  6. Totally agree with The Truth About forever and Anna! I love most of Dessen's books (except her oldest and newest...) and I'm at a point where I think a summer without one of her books is kind of not...acceptable :) I haven't read the other two books you suggested, but I have Catching Jordan on my Kindle and I am really eager to read it!!!

    1. Which one is her oldest? I heard a lot of people say that about the newest though. I loved the one I just finished.

    1. I haven't read the new one yet. But I heard that it wasn't as good as the rest. I still want to try it out though. I really loved Truth about Forever and I just finished Along for the Ride. Both were excellent.
